Bergen op Zoom : Grand Arsenal, before 1915.
This is the Grand Arsenal as seen from the quay Zuidzijde Haven along the Oude Binnenhaven. It was built in 1764 as an arsenal for the Fortress of Bergen of Zoom. After the abolishment as a fortress in 1868 the fortifications were demolished for the greater part, but the arsenal was maintained. Since 1880 the former arsenal was used as an artillery-barracks. Later it was used by the army for storage. The building has been renovated awaiting a new function.
