The field side of the Amsterdam Gate with bridge in front viewed from the dam towards the ravelin. This monumental 17th century gate was the entrance to the fortress Naarden from Muiden / Amsterdam. Unfortunately this monumental gate was demolished in 1915 to improve (military) traffic passage and replaced by a wide coupure in the rampart.
